Gray Matter

Gray is great. People think gray is a neutral, but I think it’s such a moody, intense, dramatic and sexy color. It’s very sleek.

I used to have an aversion towards the color gray which I am more than happy to have gotten over because it is quickly becoming one of my favorite colors so far. I used to think that it was simply such a bleak and bland color but now I am appreciating how intense it is and how easy it is to wear and accessorize based on one’s personal preference.

I have to say that this outfit is what I would call “business casual.” I normally wear more dressy and professional-looking ensembles in the office like suits and skirts especially when I have business meetings but on the day I wore this, my day was relatively light and not hectic and I preferred to report to work in something that wasn’t too binding and was easy to wear. Now when I bought this vest, I was quite conflicted on how I was going to style it and wear it because it seemed long enough to be a dress but at the same time, too revealing to just wear as is. I previously styled this gray piece before with a pair of white slacks and ivory camisole and it was more masculine and formal when I wore it as such. This time, while the look of the outfit is more laid back and casual, it still is very “dressy.” Not too shabby for a hot and humid day for work in Manila, right?
