The Night Before Christmas…

It’s tradition that I glam it up for our Christmas Eve dinner. In memory of the

Channeling my inner Jessica Rabbit in this red high slit sequined gown for our traditional annual Christmas Eve dinner at Old Manila at The Peninsula Manila. It was a great night of scrumptious food from the new chef, good wine and champagne and of course the best company of loved ones and family and of course, my expat boyfriend Inigo. Happy Holidays!!!

The menu for the night was:
(Thanks to Manila Pen’s staff for accommodating a special menu for us since I have so many allergies. The German chef was genius! One of the best dinners EVER!)

Amuse Bouche

Salad of Green Asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh Parmesan, truffle dressing

Spiced Foie Gras wrapped in Prosciutto w/ melba toast, buttered head leaves

Pan Seared foie gras with caramelized apples and pears

Mushroom consomme with Brunoise Vegetable

Mango Sorbet

Pepper crusted tenderloin, ratatouille, potato gratin, thyme jus

Oven roasted olive crusted lamb chops, ratatouille, gratin potatoes, thyme jus

Layers of raspberries and mango coated panna cotta

Coffee or Tea and Christmas Cookies

Chocolate Pralines

(+ champagne/ wine for every course!)

Followed by a yummy noche buena of MAJESTIC HAM, QUESO DE BOLA, RICE, BEEF BELLY and LECHON DE LECHE from Cirkulo at Home!!!!!

Lady in Red

(Dress: Glitterati | Shoes: Aldo | Pearls: Mikimoto)

Aside from having the LBD (little black dres) as a staple in my closet, there’s also this: THE LITTLE RED DRESS. I love red! Seriously! It is such a vixenish, Jessica Rabbit-esque shade to wear but when accessorized well, I think it can be pulled off elegantly. I wore this to a pre-Christmas party (the first of many) at our housewhere tons of food coma inducing food were served. Chose the right dress as it was festive and fun.

PS: Don’t you just love my two-faced aka bipolar shoes from Aldo? I love this pair…seriously…

A New Pamper Me Spot: Manos Nail Lounge.

Every girl knows this: Pretty Nails are a MUST.
It’s not just vanity but more of a hygiene issue but personally, I love my nails to be well-groomed and polished to perfection. This is why I have a love affair with nail salons and trust me, I’ve tried them all. Every nail spa I have tried offers something that puts them on the edge and I love that!

Last week, I tried out MANOS NAIL LOUNGE and I fell head over feet over the extreme pampering experience.

Perfectly arranged and sanitized tools and products for my foot spa session! I always appreciate a neatly arranged set-up!

I enjoyed the minimalist earthy theme of the place. Differentiating itself from the usual nail spa colors of pink, purple and white, Manos decided to go a different direction and it was quite a refreshing experience to be surrounded by brown and green tones.

More so Manos also offers Happy Hour treats- who wouldn’t love getting pampered with cocktails or coffee?

Talk about the ultimate HAPPY HOUR!

Wore this to a 9-course meal to celebrate my mom’s birthday for the nth time again at my favorite restaurant RED in Makati Shangri-la! RED has the best food ever and they were nice enough to customize a special menu for us, given I have a lot of food allergies! I love her birthday… feels like we’re celebrating for a month… seriously! I also had a bloggers slumber party at Midas Hotel that day (blogging about that VERY soon) so basically I was hotel hopping that night!
