Blood Red and Going Down

Red and Camel.

(Blazer: Zara | Belt: Vintage | Trousers: Mango | Shoes: Zara | Purse: Alma Louis Vuitton | Accessories: Cultus ChiChi)
To transition from fall to summer, ah, so refreshing. I love the idea of changing seasons and with that comes an entirely new color palette. Thus the outfit. I was quite hesitant to always pair camel with blood red but I am thinking it turned out quite well.

The accent of the outfit, is the leopard vintage belt my mom gave to me which is always beautiful when paired to accent red. Another beautiful combo are these Zara shoes (from the current collection) which are just too perfect to resist. Kept my inner top simple with the Mimic spandex x mesh corset from our new collection, The Flashy Femme for GliteratiCheck it out! xx

Red on Red: Wear RED, Wear HOPE

In red for Japan. I love how Chictopia has made fashion make a statement- for a good cause as Japan rebuilds after the catastrophic calamity that has struck them.

“The fashion community can not only inspire what people wear daily,
but we have a voice that can call other people
into action at a time of crisis and loss.”

Blame it on that red dress…

Class is an aura of confidence that is being sure without being cocky. Class has nothing to do with money. Class never runs scared. It is self-discipline and self-knowledge. It’s the sure footedness that comes with having proved you can meet life. At the end of the day, I have today, I have yet to meet life, but I do not run scared. Someone once said, “Know when to tune out, if you listen to too much advice you may wind up making other peoples mistakes.”

Wore Valentino Red (which is my new favorite color) for the Prive Fashion Awards Nomination night at Members Only. I had a pretty hectic day and was so tired to attend. However, since I promised by BFF/business partner that I was going, I had to overcompensate… by dressing all up. External glamor was needed for me to survive the night and the invitation did say formal, after all. And so, I whipped out my favorite satin dress with a beautiful bow belt detail, paired that with my crystal heeled Lanvin x H&M bow pumps and accessorized with pearls to create an elegant look. I was semi-inspired by the Oscars/ awards season that just wrapped up that night, which saved me from an outfit catastrophe (Thank God!)

The arsenal: pearls, crystal heels, patent and epi leather, bow shoes and all that jazz!

Born Lippy: Me and my BFF Nina in matching blood-stained red lips.

I am feeling quite positive and bright and shiny the past few days, which is a relief, considering how down and out I’ve been last week! Here’s something I’d like to share:
“If I were asked to give what I consider the single most useful bit of advice for all humanity it would be this: Expect trouble as an inevitable part of life and when it comes, hold you head high, look it squarely in eye and say, ‘This too shall pass, I will be bigger than you. You cannot defeat me.”

Raggedy Anne

I wanted to do my own 4th of July outfit since I saw my sister’s major all out themed 4th of July party in Washington D.C. and so in honor of her, being American, I came up with this! She totally got me in the mood to dress in red, white and blue even if I’m back here in the Philippines and we don’t celebrate that holiday at all! We have our own Independence Day which is June 12. However, since our national colors here are also red, white and blue + yellow… think of it as a late inauguration day post!

I reckon though that I ended up looking more “Dorothy” from Wizard of Oz crossed with a rag doll than “stars and stripes” but I tried…and failed miserably to break from my cutesy doll mode. It may seem like a weird transition since yesterday I was all about discovering my inner “soulja girl” and now, I’m back to hearts and bows and tulle tutus. Forgive the mood swings, I am sure though most of you are used to it by now…while most might regard it as style inconsistency, I regard it as fashion bipolarity at its finest. I guess I refuse to stick to just one look cause seriously, this is fashion… and the sky (and perhaps beyond) is the limit… so why not try it all, while I’m young and a bit more licensed/ excused to experiment with anything and everything, right?
Anyway, the outfit did get me in quite the happy mood since the colors were just too vibrant and bright that a frown would be impossibble to make. The quirky heart dress with the cute bow design is a find from the most recent Zara sale. This was originally a pencil cut below the knee dress but I wanted to avoid the whole pinup girl effect of such a cut so I altered the dress and made it shorter which made it at the best length to layer a tutu skirt under. The tutu was a gift from my sister and is really meant to go under dresses to pouf and balloon. Layered on the red accents- red headband, clutch, shoes and belt and basically that was it. This was an easy outfit to construct seriously… and subconsciously, I think I did Raggedy Anne proud.

Aren’t holidays just AWESOME?
