The Night Before Christmas…

It’s tradition that I glam it up for our Christmas Eve dinner. In memory of the Link4 Christmases I have been blogging (here in blogspot and in Chictopia), here’s a link to the past years’ dresses:
2010’s Dress
2009’s Dress
2008’s Dress (I had short hair then….)
2007’s Dress

Channeling my inner Jessica Rabbit in this red high slit sequined gown for our traditional annual Christmas Eve dinner at Old Manila at The Peninsula Manila. It was a great night of scrumptious food from the new chef, good wine and champagne and of course the best company of loved ones and family and of course, my expat boyfriend Inigo. Happy Holidays!!!

The menu for the night was:

Codes and Keys

Sequin Overload.
(Dress: Glitterati | Shoes: DAS | Bag: Chanel)

Party party outfit as this what I wore to one of my first nights out of the year (Yes, I am not really that fond of clubbing anymore!) which was why this dress was on hold in my closet for almost over a year now. I figured the Holidays were the perfect time to shimmer and shine thus the 2nd (of many) posts in sequins. This was coincidentally my outfit for a fun night out with friends over at Republiq for a special event where Jermaine Dupri spun. Never really know how the clubbing atmosphere is anymore, being out of the circuit for seasons!

Pistol Of Fire

Sequined Sundays.
(Vest: H&M | Skirt: Zara | Shoes: Capital Vice | Bag: YSL Muse)

I never thought I’d wear sequins outside the nightlife/ clubbing atmosphere but surprisingly, I took the risk this Sunday and decided to wear it going to the mall and toning it down with a bit basic pieces such as this orange cotton skirt and a plain white tank.

I kept the look still glittery and glam with my Miu-Miu inspired glitter heels courtesy of Capital Vice which are pure love! The pair is so absolutely comfortable especially since this day was when I bought Christmas gifts for my loved ones!

I then watched New Year’s Eve which was definitely a must-see! I love romantic comedies. Sigh!

Spun Sugar.

Pink Tulle.
(Dress: Mango | Bag: Vintage | Belt: Vintage | Shoes: US | Corsage: Topshop)

I wore a girly, feminine and dreamy dress I bought from Mango as part of my ’50s inspired dressing up streak (very conservative, classic and clean) and I adored this tulle beaded dress which looks absolutely delicate (and reminds me of cotton candy). I dressed it up with a beautiful gold clutch o add to the evening effect and paired it with this super pretty pair of heels with matching sequins (they magically match the dress surprisingly).

(Aren’t the details just lovely?)

And then the shoes….

I love this pair of shoes- stunning, perfect for cocktail parties but in my practice and quest for prudence and to avoid being the classic hoarder that I am I will have to let these babies go— Get a chance to grab this pair and other fabulous brand new and once worn pieces at tomorrow’s Blogger’s United Bazaar!

See you there!!!

What? I am a Good Girl….

One of my favorite movies is Burlesque. Ask anyone who lives with me and they’ll tell you the DVD is on loop almost all the time in my dvd player. It’s absolutely to die for. I love musicals- good vocals, amazing choreography and not to mention, to die for clothes and costumes—- is the perfect formula for a really great movie.

I adored the decadence and opulence of the movie. It was sequins, pearls, bling, diamonds and feathers on overload. This is why I decided to “I Die for DIY” Christina Aguilera aka Ally’s BUT I AM A GOOD GIRL number costume for my Day 1 Halloween Costume. I nailed the peg to a tee, complete with a blonde bob and glitterati shoes. For the outfit what I needed were:
(1) Ostrich feathers/ fur
(2) Silver sequins
(3) Satin fabric
(4) Boning for the corset
(5) A blonde bob
(6) Lots of confidence to pull this look offI had a blast in my costume and I loved wearing it. To see the original version, watch THIS LINK or see the photos below—-
COSTUME INSPIRATION PEGS

The dress is Chanel, the shoes YSL
The bag is Dior, Agent Provocateaur
My address today, L.A. by the way
Above Sunset Strip, the Hills all the way
My rings are by Webster, they make their heads twirl
They all say “Darling, what did you do for those pearls?”
What?! I am a good girl

B.H. I adore, Rode-O L’amore
Breakfast Polo Lounge, and poolside for sure
The Chateau for cocktails, the Courtyard at nine

You know I have found, the word’s gone around
They all say my feet never do touch the ground
What?! I am a good girl

I am a good girl
