Black Out

Black10The weather has been pretty bad the last week and I say that without exaggerating since three typhoons ravaged into our country. I’ve never been a fan of the rain and the cold weather. I find it really sad and dreary and to those who work, I am sure you can relate when I say it is such a hassle especially for everyday commute and actually trying to be productive on a gloomy day when all you really want to do is just crawl under the sheets and sleep in. They don’t call it “bed weather” for nothing, right?

Anyway, in the midst of the storm, life didn’t stop for anyone especially in the corporate world so we had to hustle. I tried my best to psych myself up and just try to get my creative juices flowing by putting so much effort in trying to look good. So I decided on this outfit which is a combination of comfort and sultry all in one. The sweater I wore was the perfect choice as it kept me warm and it had a fuzzy feel to it that was absolutely amazing. The skirt on the other hand was another story as it was almost sheer with a short lining to cover up all the important parts. Confession: I never actually realized how “sexy looking” this skirt was until I saw my reflection in the mirror and some people commented on it at work. I was shocked to find it wasn’t fully lined all the way. The bright side to this is that I was pretty covered up with my top so it kind of evened things out. I accessorized with the basics: a silver Chanel broach, my new Chanel Le Boy bag and ankle strap heels. Now that I consider it, this is the perfect adaptation of a Little Black Dress but wearing separates.

To maintain the vampy look I also experimented with my makeup for the day as I work darker shades than the usual nudes and pale pinks I am used to. I put on a maroon dark smokey eye and a dark vampy maroon lip rouge which was quite the risk for me but I enjoyed the vixened up look… For the day at least. Plus it went perfectly with my ensemble.

I was also able to easily transition this outfit from day to night as I wore this on a Friday and after work and running some errands, I had late dinner and drinks with my brother Enzo’s IESE team mates (from Barcelona) who were visiting for the weekend. All in all, it was the perfect choice for a gloomy but busy day.
